Schull Ferry Route

Schull a small but very attractive and lively village nestling between the foothills of Mount Gabriel and Schull Harbour. Schull is 2hrs from Kerry airport, 1hr 40mins from Killarney or Cork City and 30 mins from the famous Mizen Head. There are lots of things to see and do in Schull and also plenty of accommodation choices.

Schull will be serviced by our new FAST FERRY this year with capacity for 90 passengers. With airline-style seating, large saloon windows, air conditioning, heating saloon and a large viewing deck. The journey time has been reduced from 45 mins to 25mins.

Our ferries depart from Schull pier to the spectacular Island of Cape Clear. Departures begin in June 3 times a week Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and daily from Tuesday- Sunday for the months of July and August.

Our tours to the iconic Fastnet Rock, also known as the “Teardrop of Ireland” depart from Schull pier starting in June until August. Please check the timetable for the next tour departure date.

Covid 19 Guidelines

Cape Clear Ferries COVID 19 Guidelines/ OUR FASTNET TOURS ARE NOW FINISHED FOR 2020

With reduced capacity, all seats must be pre-booked.  Bookings can be made online @ or by phone.

CONTACT TRACING will be required on boarding.

BAGGAGE- To avoid cross-contamination passengers are responsible for handling their own baggage. Please put it in the cargo box on the pier when provided or carry it on board yourself. Please do not put the baggage on seats.

HAND SANITISER- Onboarding please use the hand sanitiser provide and abide by the one-way system.

SOCIAL DISTANCING- Please keep your distance from the next group or couple.

FACEMASKS- are now compulsory on public transport. So please bring one with you.

CLEANING – all our ferries will be sanitised before and after every sailing.

TOILETS- In order to avoid unnecessary queuing for the onboard toilet, please ensure you use the public toilets before boarding located next to the Harbour Masters office (Baltimore) or behind the Shop (Cape).
