Cape Clear Ferries runs services to Cape Clear from both Baltimore and Schull in West Cork.

A range of accommodation options are available to travellers who may prefer to base themselves in West Cork rather than the island itself.

Historic village and maritime port

Baltimore Village

The historic village and maritime port of Baltimore (or Dún na Séad in Irish) lies around 100km (60 miles) west of Cork City and one of the last stops on the Wild Atlantic Way. Its natural harbour is a busy spot for charter and pleasure boats as well as fishing boats and Cape Clear Ferries, with our passenger ferry Dún an Óir II servicing the route year-around with capacity for 94 passengers.

The oldest part of Baltimore village features a castle and rows of fishermen’s cottages while the bars and restaurants are gathered in the centre with views over the sea and local islands.
