Join us to celebrate St Ciarán’s Day

Cape Clear Island is one of the last places in Ireland which continues the tradition of celebrating its Patron Saint’s Feast Day, St Ciaran’s Day which falls on the 5th March.

St Ciaran, born in 352 AD on the island is an important pre-Patrician saint and is the patron saint of Cornwall where he is known as St Piriam.

The feast day celebration includes prayers at the Grotto, the celebration of Mass, the blessing of the island’s boats and a community celebration including music, refreshments, and song.
